My earliest memories of traveling in Asia are of waking early to the sound of leaves being swept from the pathways of a small beachfront Losmen in Legian, Bali in ’89. It’s crazy how now, over twenty years on, the sound of such a simple act can still take me right back to that first trip. I took this shot a few days ago, it is one of my Bangladeshi friends sweeping up the leaves near our room in the Maldives, he tells me it’s his favorite time of the day, a good time to think about his life and his family back home in #bangladesh
